To whom it may concern:
Reed Business Information UK employed Phillip from December 1991 until he relocated to our USA office in 1999, in the position of Northern Advertisement Manager for Estates Gazette, based in our Manchester office. The Estates Gazette is one of the top three business-to-business titles published by RBI, and is seen by all as the premier property magazine in the UK.
Phillip’s role as Northern Ad Manager not only encompassed selling advertising to direct customers and agencies but also, due to the location, an office manager’s role.
Phillip, as a sales person, is highly motivated and sets himself high sales targets. He is loyal, presentable and throws himself fully into both the role of salesman and understanding the industry he works within.
He controlled sales teams based in two locations. He was instrumental in building his sales territory that he and his team are responsible for, from a weak position in 1991 to one of great strength in 1999. His ability and commitment will be missed. He has been able to prise both key pieces of business and industry events off our competitor without using price as a tool – just his application and dedication to the cause.
Phillip, as a sales manager, recruited the sales teams – all of which are still with the company – a statement to both his selection of key staff and the fact the team is always highly motivated, focused and, most importantly, want to work for Phillip. His understanding of the fiscal side of our business is also excellent.
In his role as Office Manager, he was set the task of negotiating our expansion into Birmingham which involved taking on extra staff, locating offices and negotiating the lease – all of which happened seamlessly.
As a friend, I see and understand Phillip’s reasons for leaving a role he has made his own and which will be hard to fill and wish him all the best – any future employer will soon realize what an asset they have.

To whom it may concern:
I have known Phillip Wren both professionally and personally since 1991 when he worked as the Regional Manager on Estates Gazette, one of our flagship magazines. He was an excellent sales manager with great drive and enthusiasm and a real desire to win in the marketplace.
Phillip was always extremely honest, trustworthy and loyal to both his colleagues and to the company, and I would have no hesitation in re-employing him should he relocate back to the UK.
Yours sincerely,
MARK KELSEY Global Chief Executive Officer Reed Business Information 011 44 208 652 3500
